Uddika Premarathna (born 16 September 1980) is a Sri Lankan actor and singer who has worked in cinema and television for many years. He is also known for briefly serving as a Member of Parliament for the Anuradhapura District from 2020 to 2024.
Uddika started his career in television dramas, appearing in several popular serials. As his TV work became known, he moved into movies, where he became a familiar face in Sri Lankan cinema.
He made his big-screen debut with the romantic film Samanala Sandhawaniya (2013), playing the lead role of Vadisha Wikramanayaka a movie that ran for many weeks in theatres and helped establish him as a film actor.
Uddika has appeared in many notable films, including:
- Maharaja Gemunu (2015) – a historical film in which he played King Dutugemunu.
- Paththini (2016) – where he played a key role in this drama based on an ancient story.
- Aloko Udapadi (2017) – a history film where he portrayed King Valagamba.
- Rush (2019) – a popular action-romance film where he played the lead character Rashan “Rush” Wijemanna.
In television, Uddika also starred in the widely watched mega-series Para Dige, which earned him awards for Most Popular Actor at major TV award events.
